PNG Expo 2026 to feature top voices from mining, government and community sectors

PNG Industrial and Mining Resources Exhibition and Conference (PNG Expo) will bring together key decision makers from across Papua New Guinea’s resources sector, with its 2026 conference program spotlighting speakers from leading mining companies, service providers and community organisations.

The two-day program will address key themes of sustainability, public health and operational resilience, reflecting the ongoing evolution of priorities within PNG’s mining sector.

Prime Creative Media Show Director of Mining Events, Rebecca Todesco, said the strength of the conference lies in the diversity of perspectives represented across the speaker line-up.

“PNG Expo is about connecting the full spectrum of the mining industry, from operators and suppliers through to government and community leaders,” she said.

“By bringing these voices together, the conference creates conversations that can support long-term growth across the sector.”

The Partnering for Certainty: How Miners and Government Can Strengthen PNG’s Global Position panel will feature speakers such as Franz Hemetsberger from OK Tedi Mining and Tommy Dlabik from Hexagon, offering insights into how collaboration between industry, government, and community stakeholders can strengthen investor confidence and deliver shared outcomes.

These perspectives will also carry into the Healthy Communities for Healthy Mines: Public Health in Remote Mining Regions panel, where speakers will address the importance of healthcare access and community wellbeing in supporting sustainable mining operations.

“Strong communities are essential to a strong mining sector,” Rebecca said.

“This panel will highlight how organisations working on the ground are helping to improve health outcomes in remote regions, which in turn supports safer and more productive operations.”

The Building Trust, Shared Value and Sustainable Partnerships panel will bring together representatives from companies such as Great Pacific Gold, TriCab and Kokoda Track Foundation, each offering practical insight into stakeholder engagement and long-term partnership models.

Building trust with landowners and local communities continues to be a priority for the industry. These organisations are demonstrating how shared value approaches can create benefits for all parties involved.

Other key participants include speakers from The PNG Chiefs, Stream Tech PNG, Pacific Lime and Cement, Great pacific Gold and OK Tedi.

With a high-calibre speaker program and an emphasis on practical outcomes, PNG Expo 2026 will play a vital role in connecting the industry, sharing critical insights and supporting the future growth of PNG’s mining and resources sector.
